1958 Rolls Royce Silver Cloud 4x4 Hippie Glam Art Car Magnolia Pearl by Rrobin Brown - You Really Must See this Car!!!

Magnolia Pearl 4x4 Rolls Royce Art Car Central
Magnolia Pearl 4x4 Rolls Royce Art Car
Magnolia Pearl aka Robin "Pearl" Brown of Bandera, Texas and her partner John Gray opened up a business selling clothing and accessories made from vintage laces, velvets, silks, and embroidered linens from her collection. It all started with a bag she made that was so amazing that a total stranger tracked her down in store and bought it from her. So she made another and another and today she is an accomplished textile artist who has designed all kinds of things from vintage backpacks, purses, clothing, jewelry, and even some fine furniture pieces.

What interested me about her was her amazing 1958 Rolls Royce Silver Cloud 4x4 Hippie Glam Art Car and the matching airstream that went with it. WOW!!! First of all, this Rolls Royce art car is even more over the top than John Lenon's Art Car, with more flowers and off road power in one car than all of Haight Ashbury and Monster Jam put together.

The airstream also has an amazing paint job but it truly is breath taking and cozy once you get inside and see all the details. She has completely remade this airstream in her unique style with plenty of texture and color to keep the eyes busy for a long long time. And after a long day of doing some off road cross country travel you can pull over and soak in a claw foot tub filled with hot water and  bubbles. Have tea and fall asleep in what looks like the most comfortable airstream bead I have ever seen.

Robin Bandera and her creations are a delight to the eyes and soul in every way and has managed to pull together her style using the elements at her disposal with ease and perfection, case in point. The only criticism I have of her is that she should have installed a roll cage inside the art car, but I am willing to over look this minor detail, this time:) Great Job!!!

6 Wheeled Monster Off-Road Mercedes Mutant Vehicle in New Mad Max 4 Movie

6 Wheeled Monster Off-Road Mercedes Mutant Vehicle in New Mad Max 4 Movie
6 Wheeled Monster Off-Road Mercedes Mutant Vehicle in New Mad Max 4 Movie

I just run into the most awesome Mercedes 300SD ever in the history of Mercedes Benz. Its a 6, count them 6 wheeled monster Off-Road Mercedes mutant vehicle beast built for the long awaited Mad Max 4: Fury Road, that is going into production next spring in Namibia.

Its basically a 80's Mercedes mounted on semi truck frame and if that's the future to come then I am going to start making preparations to convert my Mercedes Pens Art Car into it's close cousin.

I am guessing this 6-Wheeled Mercedes beauty belongs to some war lord, head honcho, bad guy who loves to ride in luxury while ordering his mutant henchmen to kill people and destroy small enclaves. It also looks like it has enough gas tanks to last a while since there aren't many places to pull over and get gas in the future. I am definitely looking forward to seeing this movie just to see this Mutant Vehicle in action. Art Car Central is proud to display and report on such exuberant mutations of Mercedes Benz cars and certainly puts this 4x4 Mercedes to shame. Recipient of The Mutant Vehicle of the Month award.

Lada Horse Carriage Salvage Mod - Ideal for the farm

Lada Horse Carriage Salvage Mod - Ideal for the farmI think this is the world's first Lada Donk salvage mod with carriage wheels modification. It was developed somewhere in Eastern Europe as part of the small footprint program. It has a whopping two horse power with massive rims and really really low profile tires. Ideal for off road farm use.

Hair Hummer Art Car by Little Willie - Detroit Hair Wars 2010

Photo by Peter Hapack for Time

I run into this picture the other day from an article in Time about the Detroit's annual Hair Wars 2010 where stylists go at it with scissors and hair products creating the most amazing hairs styles in the US. I was interested in this particular piece because it was a car, The "Hair" Hummer Art Car Styled by Little Willie and modeled by Sharv Bailey that took an entire day to create. A while back I posted about some hairy art cars with hair on top of them but never a car made from hair. I even had one from fashion week with a tire rim as a hat.

Techno Jeep Music Art Car by Julian Smith

Techno Jeep Music Art Car by Julian Smith

This amazing Techno Jeep video has got to be the first art car music piece I have ever seen and it came from Julian Smith.tv. Julian and his friends use ACTUAL sounds from a Jeep by mics to pick up the various sound elements. The sounds are then fed into sound board, recorded and then looped back to create the techno sound in this video (I think that's how it works). It took about two weeks to rehearsal and 7 hours of filming resulting in a video worthy of mention here on art car central

reCARstruction Art Car Ball

reCARstruction Art Car Ball - 1983 Jeep Grand Wagoneer by Keny Marshall via

I found this reCARstruction Art Car Ball sculpture created by artist Keny Marshall from the disassembled parts of a 1983 Jeep Grand Wagoneer for the Children's Museum of Pittsburgh. Its probably not street legal any more and seating could be very uncomfortable with the part all moved around a bit. The video also shows how it was this art car was reCARstructed.

I just got this great email today from Dave Harvey who created the Cosmic Groove Lizard Art Car as a result of reading Harrod Blanks book on Art Cars. He is also a musician, puppet maker and painter of guitars furniture and now a very beautiful and amazing art car. The copy below is his bio taken directly from his web site and be sure to go check out his web site for a peek at his other works of art.

Hello- David Hervey here. I am a painter and musician from Wilmington, NC. I grew up at the beach and have enjoyed art and music since a young age. I started my painting career shortly after graduating from ECU in the spring of 1997. My main media interests are in acrylic painting as well as mask and puppet making. Recently, I have started custom painting guitars to get a true one-of-a-kind instrument look. I draw my inspiration from God my creator, and from my awesome friends and family. I love to spark feelings of happiness in my paintings, though serious subject matter is often portrayed as well. Both realism and abstraction are captured in my works as I feel it helps to keep me balanced and never bored with my projects. I strive for my work to exhibit vibrancy, though not necessarily perfect realism. I enjoy impressionistic realism because it captures life’s beauty in an original, energetic way. People (specifically faces) are often expressed in my paintings and masks. I find humans to be very interesting subject matter. I consider harmony and balance to be very important in art and life in general. This makes life sweet and continually interesting… Until we meet again, may your journey be blessed… David Hervey Artist/Musician

4x4 Jeep Art Car goes nowhere

This 4x4 Jeep Art Car is truly a wonderful piece of work, and I don't mean that in the negative sense at all. Its purely sculptural piece created from found object out there in Moab, Utah. Its made up of rusty tools, license plates, nuts and bolts, backhoes, picks and shovels, saw blades, industrial sprockets and springs. I wonder where the car is registered?
