Mullen, 55, is a court officer in Detroit, Mich., who evicts people whose homes are in foreclosure, became an over night art car owner when he came upon this Psychedelic 1961 Citroën Mystery painted art car parked in a garage. On a typical day inspecting homes he opened up the garage of a house and found a 1961 Citroën parked beside five other European sports cars: an Austin-Healey, a Jensen-Healey, two Saab Sonetts, a Triumph TR8 and the eye-popping Citroën.
It turns out that the artists, possibly university students or teachers, transformed 61 Citreon from ordinary to OMG in Minneapolis about 40 years ago. Mullen, who now owns the art car, is set on finding out who created this amazing art car and thank them personally. By posting his story on art car central we hope to reach out and find those responsible for this amazing work of art.
If you are responsible please step forward and be congratulated:)
Magnolia Pearl aka Robin "Pearl" Brown of Bandera, Texas and her partner John Gray opened up a business selling clothing and accessories made from vintage laces, velvets, silks, and embroidered linens from her collection. It all started with a bag she made that was so amazing that a total stranger tracked her down in store and bought it from her. So she made another and another and today she is an accomplished textile artist who has designed all kinds of things from vintage backpacks, purses, clothing, jewelry, and even some fine furniture pieces.
What interested me about her was her amazing 1958 Rolls Royce Silver Cloud 4x4 Hippie Glam Art Car and the matching airstream that went with it. WOW!!! First of all, this Rolls Royce art car is even more over the top than John Lenon's Art Car, with more flowers and off road power in one car than all of Haight Ashbury and Monster Jam put together.
The airstream also has an amazing paint job but it truly is breath taking and cozy once you get inside and see all the details. She has completely remade this airstream in her unique style with plenty of texture and color to keep the eyes busy for a long long time. And after a long day of doing some off road cross country travel you can pull over and soak in a claw foot tub filled with hot water and bubbles. Have tea and fall asleep in what looks like the most comfortable airstream bead I have ever seen.
Robin Bandera and her creations are a delight to the eyes and soul in every way and has managed to pull together her style using the elements at her disposal with ease and perfection, case in point. The only criticism I have of her is that she should have installed a roll cage inside the art car, but I am willing to over look this minor detail, this time:) Great Job!!!

I think I found one the biggest pink colored freighter ships on earth called the "Contship Germany" owned by The CONTI-Group, one of the world's leading managing owners of container vessels and tankers. That's a whole lot of pink paint if you ask me but I think its just a starting point for what could be a beautiful art ship. They probably should call on Emily Duffy creator of the Vain Van Art Car about putting on the finishing touches on this transatlantic beauty and then reposting it here on art car central.

This Armored Art Truck was created by artist Mr Cartoon to promote the 2009 film, "Armored", starring the likes of Jean Reno, Laurence Fishburne and Matt Dillon, Mr. Cartoon and SA Studios created a one-of-a-kind armored truck in Cartoon’s signature Angeleno style. 3 Cars + 3 Artist + 3 Skaters??? = The 3 Chevy Sonic Urban Art Car Series
What do you get when you have 3 Cars + 3 Artist + 3 Skaters??? Obviously you have the Chevy Sonic Urban Art Cars Series. But if you ask me I don't really know how the math works out on this one especially when you add three skates into the mix but the folks over at Chevy know something I don't.
Not to be out done by Avis Art Cars, Chevy commissioned three artists to paint their new Chevy Sonics as part of their Urban Art Series. The series was sponsored by Chevy to bring together artists of different mediums. More specifically they paired urban skaters with visual artists to give the "fuel efficient" Chevy Sonic an urban art makeover that would let the car feel more "coooooomfortable" in urban settings.
In Part One the Chevy Sonic got the once over by Queens, New York, artist Alice Mizrachi who was paired up with pro skateboarders Rodney Torres and Eli Reed. Here is what we got, a Chevy with a cityscape wrapped around the car with Flushing Meadows Unisphere in Queens on the hood.

In Part Two Brooklyn tattoo artist John Reardon to put down some fresh ink on a Chevy Sonic, inspired by Queens, NY native Luis Tolentino showing off his skateboarding skills. The sonic got a complete flame job with skulls called "death" and the good part, the car didn't feel a thing.

In Part three LA Artist EnikOne throw down some amazing artwork on this brand new unsuspecting Chevy Sonic, featuring a design inspired by skater Keelan Dadd. EnikOne is a diverse multidisciplinary artist who has found the balance between graffiti, street art, graphic design techniques and the use of screen printing and stencil methods that allow him to make multiple copys of his work.
Avis Art Car by Artist Dea Vectorink - Art Car Central
Avis Car Rental in United Kingdom for the first time has unveiled its exclusive art car available now for rent and one Alfa Romeo car you really don't want to trash.
Their art cars were created as part of a European-wide Facebook competition run by Avis to encourage members of the public to design their own art car.
There were more than 1,000 entries from across six European countries including the UK and the winner was Andrea-Victoria Halbroth aka Dea Vectorink (pictured above), an illustrator and tattoo apprentice who was born in London and currently living in Germany.
Her art car design will join two other art cars designed by Si Scott and French born animation expert McBess, creating the first ever public art cars to be available across Europe.
Avis is the first car rental company to join the art car movement, embodying the postmodernist philosophy that anyone can be an artist.
Recognized to have started in the 1960s and 1970s, the Art Car movement has recently seen a huge revival with high profile car manufacturers and artists getting involved like Art Car Central did back in 2007.
About Vincent Loos and His VW Art Car Foxy Shahzadi
Vincent Loos is a 39-year-old Frenchman who finished a three year stint at a hospital in Islamabad, Pakistan. He was with "Doctors without borders" and the owner of a 25 year old Volkswagen Beetle wreck, found at the bottom of an Islamabad street waiting for a final trip to the scrapyard. He hired an intensive care specialist who restored the car to full health, and then hired Alhabib Ejaz, an artist to paint in the local style known as "truck art".
His Dream was to travel to Paris by road with a beautifully painted VW art car covered in a psychedelic array of flowers, waterfalls and the faces of famous Pakistanis. He wanted this 6,000 mile trip to be a way to show the world the "softer side" of Pakistan.
So he embarked on his art on wheels tour, a trip that took about two weeks fully equipped with a roof rack and plenty of spare parts to make the grueling trip across that part of the world. For more info you can check out his blog
Traveling by Foxy, as Beetles are affectionately known in Pakistan, Loos payed homage to a local motoring cult. Dozens of well-maintained Beetles ply the streets. (His, a cool grey, a Betsy, a proud 1967 model.)
The Beetle came to Pakistan in the 1950s with army officers and bureaucrats returning from postings abroad. The appeal has endured – Mubashir Hasan, a finance minister from the 1970s, still drives his around Lahore. Romano Karim of Islamabad's VW club estimates about 500 "Foxies" travel Pakistan's roads. "Cute, quirky, cheap spare parts – it's the ideal car," he says.
About Alhabib Ejaz
Alhabib Ejaz was the local truck artist who was hired to transform Foxy Shahzadi into one of the most beautiful VW art cars in town for its long journey to Paris. Alhabib Ejaz is an artist who has devoted his entire life to painting those amazing Pakistani art trucks with crazy paint jobs and doilies hanging from the windows and as you can see he did ana amazing job on Foxy. What I like the most about Alhabib is the fact that he rocks the social media scene with flikr, a youtube video and two facebook accounts to promote his amazing art. This whole thing happened back in 2009 but it deserves a big mention here on Art Car Central. Please check the Alhabib Ejaz's video below.
