Little Bit of Nonsense art car was just sent in by Randy Blair shown here with his wife Wendy Wanda at this years Houston Art Car Parade. Its a tiny 2007 Toyota Yaris, that's completely covered with Dichroic glass, magnets, bumper stickers, toys and a ton of other things that he has made. This would be under the "Holy Moley" category I am about to create. Photo by Paul McRae

Sentrasaurus Art Car for Sale - Mythical Beast Going Cheap on Ebay

Sentrasaurus Art Car for Sale - Mythical Beast Going Cheap on Ebay
more photos here

Oh goody, the Sentrasaurus Art Car is now up for sale on eBay for those of you looking for a "Dinosauraus Mosaicus" built on a Nissan Sentra. Richard is trying to unload this mythical beast on the cheap so he can raise money for his next art car project. here is the more on the art car.

Vehicle Description: The Sentra now know as "Sentrasaurus" for it's abstract dinosaur resemblance began it's transformation into an art car in late 2008 for the Houston Art Car Parade which it has since appeared in 2009 and 2010. The exterior consists of a skin made of mosaic stained glass and mirror structures (spikes) creating a spine down the center. The entire vehicle is covered with mosaic glass which is glued on with silicone adhesive and was later grouted to fill in the cracks. The mirror spikes are soldered together and are screwed into the body of the vehicle. The added weight from the extra glass, silicone, grout, and mirrors is unknown although we would probably estimate around 150-200lbs.

Jungle Bug Art truck finds new life on internet.

This beautiful Jungle Bug Art Car is brought to you by Amanda Jensen a 1987 Ford Ranger with a shell. She said this about her art car:

I started decorating it in 1996. I used "fake plant" leaves, plastic jewels, One-Shot paint, and for the first years, many large & giant toy bugs. Now, there are only some giant ants painted blue on top. It was my ONLY vehicle, a "daily driver" art-car, until November 2007. I did it all myself and never had a garage or driveway so it was street-parking only. Many people loved it very much, but it never got very famous or publicized. It doesn't run well anymore. Alas!! I love it! I deeply miss being able to drive it everywhere.

Amanda thank you for submitting your Jungle Bug Art Truck it is truly a very beautiful art car and I do hope my readers will post lots of comments.

Shattered Glass Art Car

This Maserati Quattroporte was created by Italian artist Luca Pancrazzi, a car covered with 1,763 lbs. of shattered glass. Wow!!! there are definitely a few things I don't want do with this car: 1)Fall on it 2)Collide with it 3)Come near it. But its beautiful in a weird kind of way. Its a car that could maybe belong to Superman or someones "ex wife". Link came from Auto Blog

Glass Quilt Mosaic VW Art Car

Glass Quilt Mosaic VW Art Car

The Glass Quilt a 1969 Volkswagen Beetle was created By Oakland artist Ron Dolce. He spent 18 years adhering the glass mosaic to the body of his Volkswagen, and each colored piece of glass is carefully hand cut and glued onto the VW body using 100% silicone adhesive. When he got a dent in the front of the car, Ron simply re-applied the mosaic over the impression. The detail of the glass does an excellent job of disguising the dent. When I met Ron at Art Car Fest 05 in Berkeley, he said that to truly experience this car you have to put your hands on it, otherwise you cant connect with it on a deaper level. Ron thank you for your dedication and commitment to your art, a true classic VW. To book this car for your next event go to Art Car Agency.
